67 organizations have applied for the 9th edition of the Program “Entrepreneurship for Non-Profit organizations" 2019/2020
For the second consecutive year the challenge for the organizations began at the application stage – for inclusion in the program they had to send a developed business plan to show their preparation and readiness for realization of the venture. We received the ideas for development of entrepreneurial initiatives from civil organizations from all over the country, from small and large towns -– Sofia, Varna, Plovdiv, Veliko Tarnovo, Pazrdjik, Burgas, Vratsa, Gabrovo, Byala, Lyaskovetz, Suhindol, etc.
All ideas will be considered and evaluated and 10 to 12 organizations will be included in the program. The main criteria, beyond purely administrative requirements, are related to the viability of the business idea and its connection with the mission of the organisation, the potential of the organisation and its team, and its readiness to implement the project.
The selection of candidates will pass through two stages. At the first stage, the ideas that cover the described above criteria will be selected. At the second stage we will conduct individual interviews with the representatives from these organizations in order to form a group of 10 to 12 organizations that will enter the program. At the beginning of September we will announce the participants in the new edition of ‘Entrepreneurship for NGOS’ and will contact each of the candidates via email.
The participants in the new Program will take part in several trainings to optimize their entrepreneurial projects with the support of specialists in different fields such as entrepreneurship and planning, financial forecasts and pricing, presentation skills and more. In the beginning of 2020 they will be able to compete with their business ideas in the competition "best Business Plan of NGOS" and the winners will receive financial investment. For awarded in the competition the program continues with mentoring and practical trainings on the way of realization of their ideas in the period March-September 2020.
For the ninth consecutive year the team of BCNL implements the program “Entrepreneurship for NGOS" – because we believe in the impact that civil organizations can achieve by developing a business model, which is related to their mission. The first objective of the entrepreneurial model of work is sustainability and financial independence of the organizations. The second is increase in the impact that is most often expressed in providing work for people from vulnerable groups, changing attitudes in society towards them, developing skills and autonomy, etc. And this impact is the most important thing that entrepreneurship with a cause gives to the world and our society. For organizations that are motivated to develop and achieve social change, the program offers expert support through individual consultations and further trainings, and the best developed and thought-out ideas have a chance for financial Investment.
The Program „Entrepreneurship for Non-Profit Organizations“ 2019/2020 happens with the support of America for Bulgaria Foundation and in partnership with TELUS International Europe, UniCredit Bulbank and Accenture Bulgaria.
