Training on the topic “The risks of terrorist financing for non-profit organizations in Bulgaria”

The Bulgarian Center for Not-for-profit Law invites representatives of non-profit organizations to join a specialized training on the topic “The Risks of Terrorist Financing for Non-profit Organizations in Bulgaria”.

The training is aimed at associations, foundations, community centers, religious and donor organizations in Bulgaria. It will be held in English, with simultaneous translation into Bulgarian provided.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn about:

  • What is terrorist financing and what does it mean for NGOs;
  • International standards and key obligations that apply to NGOs and donor structures;
  • Measures that organizations can take to prevent abuse;
  • Examples of risks, red flags and real situations that threaten trust in the civil sector.

The training is organized by the Council of Europe, jointly with the Bulgarian Center for Non-Profit Law and the Specialized Administrative Directorate “Financial Intelligence” of the State Agency for National Security and is funded within the framework of a joint project of the European Commission and the Council of Europe under the Technical Assistance Instrument entitled “Enhancing the Capacity for Risk-Based Supervision against Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing and for Financial Intelligence in Bulgaria”.
