The bazaar “A little is a lot” introduces Members of Parliament to the work of social enterprises

Today we are at the National Assembly, where together with 15 social enterprises from the DarPazar community we are holding the Christmas Bazaar "A Little is a Lot". Hosts of the initiative, for the second consecutive year, are MPs from the Parliamentary Committee on Labour, Social and Demographic Policy – Ms Denitsa Sacheva, Chair of the Committee, and Ms Ilina Mutafchieva, Member of the Committee.

"Here we see products that are both quality and bring a lot of meaning to the causes they support. The big question before us as MPs is how to work towards an environment where more people understand social entrepreneurship and think of you and your work, to help you solve even bigger societal problems through social entrepreneurship," said Ilina Mutafchieva at the opening of the event.

Denitsa Sacheva noted that "the idea of the bazaar is for more MPs to get acquainted not only with the products, but also with the causes of social enterprises and the problems they solve. These are products created ethically, with society in mind and responsibility for the future. The development of the social and solidarity economy also offers many opportunities for young people, for whom the key factor is no longer just pay and conditions at work, but also social commitment, and social enterprises have precisely this focus."

We at BCNL believe that civil society organisations can be drivers of new and modern forms of social entrepreneurship that sustainably address the most serious problems in our society and support a variety of causes – supporting people in vulnerable situations, protecting nature, developing culture and education, preserving traditions, etc.

We're excited when we find new ways to talk about how support can take many forms – beyond the donation in a box. The strength of our 13+ years of value-added businesses through our Let's Go entrepreneurship program proves to us that the paths are many and the incentive is one – a better environment and a life of dignity for all.
