Social Contracting for Sustainability (2015 – 2017)

The project is focused on creating a favorable legal environment for social contracting in the field of child protection and social services provision in Republic of Macedonia. The achievement of this result will ensure the long-term financial sustainability of CSOs in the country and will contribute to establish guidelines for development which will help the decision-makers and all stakeholders to address challenges in the social sphere. The activities will also enhance the effectiveness of social services, and improve access to social services in the country adapted in a context in which they could be applicable in the country.

Overall objective – to contribute towards increasing the financial sustainability of CSOs in Macedonia by creating favorable legal environment for social contracting.

Specific objective – to improve the national legislation and policies by developing mechanisms for social contracting in the field of social welfare in the Republic of Macedonia.

SOS Children’s Village Macedonia as the lead partner will be responsible for the full project implementation. The Bulgarian partners – Bulgarian Centre for Not-for-Profit Law (BCNL) and SOS Children’s Villages Bulgaria – with their professional expertise in the field of child welfare and social contracting will contribute to drafting proposals for introduction of legal mechanisms for public/ private partnerships in Macedonia and government contracting procedures for social contracting, adapted to the Macedonian context, and for capacity building of CSO working in the social sphere, as well as for strengthening the cooperation between the government and civil society.

Timeframe of the project: 18 months (21.11.2015 – 21.05.2017)
