Desk Research on Social Enterprises Need and Challenges – Report

Generally, social enterprises are a specific group of enterprises that meet certain requirements regarding the purpose of their activities and the way their activity is being organized. The combination of social aim and entrepreneurial activity makes them unique subject that operates at the border of the public and business spheres. They are recognized in many European countries, as well as in European Union policies, as an effective tool for achieving sustainable solutions to major societal problems.  

The present material analyzes the actual needs and challenges of social enterprises in Bulgaria and in European Union. The report also contains main conclusions and recommendations for the SEHUBS vision for SE co-creation hubs as an innovative model at national and European level.
