BCNL BEGINS WORK WITHIN THE PROJECT “NGOS AND LOCAL AUTHORITIES: PARTNERSHIP WITHOUT CONFLICT OF INTERESTS”

The Bulgarian Center for Not-for-profit Law starts in October a new project “NGOs and local authorities: Partnership without conflict of interests”, funded by MATRA/KAP Program of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

 

The aims of the project are to analyse the new law on conflict of interest and the existing legal mechanisms for public – private partnerships on local level; to build the capacity of local authorities and NGOs to better implement the new law on conflict of interest and to ensure that both NGOs and local authorities know how to avoid potential conflict of interests when creating partnerships with each other; to provide legal assistance free of charge for the proper implementation of the new law and for solving situations of conflict of interests. Within the project activities a practical manual on avoiding the conflict of interests in establishing good partnerships among the local authorities and the NGOs. Very important part of the project activities is the organization of  6 trainings in six regional cities on issues related to the new law for conflict of interest and the legal ways for creating partnerships at the local level, attended by the representatives of municipalities and the NGOs.
