Legitimacy through Visibility: Online Database of Active Bulgarian NGOs

Objective: The overall objective of the project is to create online database of active Bulgarian NGOs, presenting a snapshot of the largest possible number of Bulgarian NGOs. The database will be informative about the status of the listed NGOs in terms of activity; easily accessible and searchable and regularly updated and sustained in the long-term.

The objective of the project will be achieved through:

  • Research and cataloguing of Bulgarian NGOs;
  • Empirical validation of the gathered data;
  • Creation of an online database;
  • Campaign for promotion of the database website;
  • Provision of services to NGOs in relation with their online presence.

 

Expected results:

The expected short – term results are: researched Bulgarian NGOs as presented in existing NGOs databases, registries of state agencies, printed NGO editions, reports of donor organizations and programs, municipal websites and others; Validated information about listed NGOs; Online database of NGOs with validated information created and launched on the internet;  Services provided through the website (generation of individual websites of the listed NGOs, automated module for including new NGOs, mailing list generation, subsection for potential donors and their messages).

The anticipated long- term results will be enhanced visibility of active Bulgarian NGOs and increased knowledge and trust of Bulgarian society in them.
