“Click of Trust” – for informed and confident donors

How many clicks separate donors from finding out whether the cause they want to support is legitimate? Fewer than you might think.

The Bulgarian Center for Not-for-Profit Law is launching “Click of Trust” – a campaign that shows every donor and potential donor how to quickly, freely, and online verify the organization they want to support before making a donation.

Public information about civil society organizations in Bulgaria exists and is accessible to everyone—on the Registry Agency’s website, on the organizations’ own websites, and in their annual reports. But it often remainsunknown and unused because no one has translated its “bureaucratic” language into something understandable. That’s exactly what “Click for Trust” does.

In a series of short videos on social media, we’ll show you step by step:

  • how to check an organization in the public registry—who founded it, who manages it, and what its status is;
  • what information to look for on the organization’s website;
  • what the annual reports reveal and why they are one of the strongest indicators of transparency.

Verification is not a sign of distrust, but rather a commitment to the cause. A transparent organization is proud to share its report. That’s why, through this campaign, we’re also reaching out to NGO teams with the message that up-to-date information in the registry, a well-maintained website, and an accessible report are the most powerful fundraising tool an organization has.
