The times are such that people, regardless if they are professionals, journalists, activists, or quite ordinary citizens, become more and more active and seek justice much more often by sharing their dissatisfaction or showing an important fact which affects the public interest. Unfortunately, this causes a proportionally opposite reaction – of suppression and attempts to silence the protesters. And yes, in Bulgaria, “slap” cases are becoming more frequent. On 20-21.4.2023 in Barcelona, Spain, took place a 2-day open space exhibition of SEs and SE hubs goods and services titled EU-Startups Summit. The event gathered together more than 1200 start-up entrepreneurs, consultants, business angels and venture capital funds from all over Europe who invest and develop new technologies and ideas in different social areas.

You may have heard legends about the NGO Summer School. You may even know by heart stories of colleagues who have already gone through the school and have encouraged you to apply at the first opportunity. Or you may have just found out about the training programme.

The mentoring meetings that each organization receives in LET'S GO are individual and focused on their specific plans - business plan and financial plan. The mentors support each organization with 2 meetings in the fields of "Business Planning and Marketing" and "Financial Planning".They manage to step into the "shoes of social entrepreneurs" and give them the right guidance according to their context.

Can Bulgarian CSOs impress their colleagues from other European countries with something we do so interesting that we can be an example? We can and we have proved it! At an international conference in Athens on "Building a Stronger Ecosystem for Social Enterprises in Europe" (3-4 April 2023) we participated together with 12 Bulgarian social enterprises run by CSOs, presenting the practices of 2 of them - all of them from the DarPazar community.

MozFest is a unique hybrid conference: partly a meeting of art, technology, and society, partly a festival of developers and gathering of activists from various global movements fighting for a more humane digital world. Every year MozFest is attended by artists, IT engineers, designers and journalists from around the world. This year BCNL will participate in this prominent international forum with its own session dedicated to the fair and non-discriminatory use of artificial intelligence.

Social entrepreneurs - the entrepreneurs who want to change the world! These are the organizations that solve the most serious societal problems. Those that are either invisible or no one takes care of them. A team of people who don't want to wait, but move - sometimes with small and sometimes with big steps towards a better future.

Nearly BGN 5.5 million will be invested in the sustainability of CSOs. The aim is to strengthen and develop the NGO sector through strategic and long-term funding and capacity building, developed on the basis of research on the specific needs of small and local NGOs in Bulgaria working for social change, defending human rights, democracy, the rule of law and European values.

The project partner is the Bulgarian Center for Not-for-Profit Law (BCNL), which organizes the shadowing program on behalf of Bulgaria.
