NGOs IN PUBLIC BENEFIT ARE ALLOWED TO PERFORM ADDITIONAL ECONOMIC ACTIVITY
Because of the slowly registrations in the Central Register for NGOs in Public Benefit with the Ministry of Justice lately and the signals from NGOs that the reason for that is the described additional economic activity in their founding documents, under art. 3 (3) form the Law on Non-Profit Legal Entities, BCNL prepared a legal statement for the legal possibility for performing additional economic activity as well as the requirements for that.

Today the Law on the State Budget of Republic of Bulgaria for 2010was published in the SG 99. The total sum of the budget subsidies for NGOs is 10 612 600 BGN and it is pointed out in art. 9 and Appendix 4 form the law. 9 812 260 BGN from them will be distributed among 26 organizations, named in the Appendix. Only 800 000 BGN will be provided to NGOs in public benefit, registered in the Central Register with the Ministry of Justice, on a competition base in order to fund their public benefit projects.

Recently a problem with court registration of changes, accepted by the supreme body of an NGO was determined. The court required from NGOs to present documents that prove that the order for calling the meeting of the supreme body has been followed and refused to enter the changes until such evidence were submitted.
