The main challenges that the project addresses are: •Appreciation and understanding of article 12 standards among key stakeholder groups, such as prosecutors, notaries, mayors, medical experts, judges, academics, policy-makers.

General aim of the project is - to improve the mechanisms for support and social inclusion of vulnerable people.

The overall objective of the project "Active Citizenship Together" is to strengthen the territorial cohesion in the region, to enhance the sustainable development and improve the capacity to use the local resources.

The Bulgarian NGOs still face serious difficulties such as lack of sustainability (mainly financial) for long-term implementation of their activities, mistrust from the citizens and bad public image, insufficient recognition from the public authorities as important partner in the process of decision-making, increasing international isolation, which reflects to impossibility for adequate participation on EU level.

The project's overall objective is effective cooperation between CSOs and the Government guaranteed by relevant policies and transparent mechanisms for financial support.

Developing Approaches to Supported Decision Making for People with Intellectual Disabilities and Mental Health Issues

The goal of the current project is to support a vibrant and independent civil society sector in Bulgaria.

The program is implemented by the Bulgarian Center for Not-for-Profit Law (BCNL). The program is supported by the America for Bulgaria Foundation. It is also supported by UniCredit Foundation with a donation of 70 000 EUR as well as the participation of experts from UniCredit Bulbank in the various stages of the program.

The main objective of the project is to create a network of viable Central and East European non-profit organizations that help other NGOs in their countries to develop their potential.
